Dysbiosis is an imbalance of microorganisms that inhabit the intestines and other mucous membranes of the body. It may be accompanied by changes in the number of beneficial bacteria and excessive growth of opportunistic or pathogenic microorganisms.
Dysbiosis can manifest as bloating, flatulence, unstable bowel movements, and abdominal discomfort. Antibiotics, stress, an unbalanced diet, and diseases of the digestive system can contribute to its development.
