Hair follicles

Hair follicles are miniature organs in the skin from which hair grows. They consist of a hair root surrounded by a cellular structure and play an important role in regulating hair growth. Each follicle has its own sebaceous gland, which produces sebum, which protects the hair and skin from drying out and external damage.

Hair growth takes place in three main phases: anagen (active growth), catagen (transitional stage) and telogen (resting state). The condition of hair follicles depends on many factors, such as hormonal balance, genetics, nutrition, scalp condition, and overall health of the body. Follicle disorders can lead to hair loss, dandruff, or other scalp problems.

To maintain the health of hair follicles, it is recommended to provide the body with the necessary vitamins and minerals (vitamins A, E, C, group B, zinc, iron), adhere to a healthy lifestyle, avoid stress and use high-quality hair and scalp care products. In case of significant hair loss or other problems, it is worth contacting a trichologist for diagnosis and treatment.
