Hepatitis is an inflammatory liver disease that can have a variety of causes, including viruses, alcohol, medications, toxins, and autoimmune responses. Depending on the cause, there are different types of hepatitis such as hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, and others. The main symptoms of hepatitis include fatigue, pain in the right hypochondrium, nausea, vomiting, yellowness of the skin and eyes.

Hepatitis can be acute or chronic. Acute hepatitis can last for several weeks and have a variety of symptoms. Chronic hepatitis lasts a long time and can lead to more serious complications such as cirrhosis of the liver and cancer.

Hepatitis prevention includes vaccination, hygiene practices, avoiding contact with contaminated blood and body fluids, limiting alcohol consumption, and using safe methods of protection in sexual contact.
