Menopause is a natural physiological process in a woman’s life, characterized by the cessation of menstrual cycles and the end of the reproductive period. Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, although its onset can vary. Menopause is defined as the moment when there is no menstruation for 12 months, which indicates a decrease in ovarian function and a decrease in the levels of sex hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.

This period can be accompanied by a variety of physiological and psychological symptoms, including hot flashes, sweating, mood changes, insomnia, vaginal dryness, decreased libido, and an increased risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease due to decreased estrogen levels.

A variety of methods can be used to relieve menopausal symptoms, including hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle changes, diet, and physical activity. In some cases, medications may be recommended to control specific symptoms. It is important that a woman during menopause receives the necessary medical support to maintain health and quality of life.
