Photoaging is the premature aging of the skin caused by prolonged and intense exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It is manifested by wrinkles, pigmentation, decreased firmness and dry skin.

The main mechanism of photoaging is associated with damage to collagen and elastin, as well as the activation of free radicals. UV filters, antioxidants, and regular skin care are important for prevention.
