Physical therapy is a method of treatment and rehabilitation that uses physical factors to restore and improve bodily functions, relieve pain, strengthen muscles and joints, and increase overall physical activity and quality of life for patients. Physiotherapeutic methods include exercises, massage, cold and heat treatments, ultrasound therapy, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and many other types of exposure.

Physical therapy is used for a wide range of diseases and conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, the postoperative period, neurological disorders (e.g., stroke, paralysis), cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, as well as for the relief of chronic pain and the management of chronic diseases.
