The reproductive system is a system of organs and glands that is responsible for the processes of reproduction and provides the possibility of procreation. It includes both internal and external organs, which play an important role in the creation and development of new organisms, as well as in the regulation of sexual functions and the production of hormones.
In women, the reproductive system consists of ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina and external genitalia. The ovaries produce eggs and hormones (estrogen and progesterone) that regulate the menstrual cycle and prepare the body for pregnancy. The uterus provides conditions for the development of the fetus during pregnancy.
In men, the reproductive system includes the testicles, which produce sperm and the hormone testosterone, the vas deferens, the prostate and the penis. The testicles are responsible for the production of spermatozoa, which combine with prostate fluids during ejaculation and form sperm.
The proper functioning of the reproductive system depends on hormonal balance and the overall health of the body. Disorders in the functioning of the reproductive system can lead to infertility, menstrual irregularities, erectile dysfunction, and other problems that require medical intervention or treatment.
