Urates

Urates are uric acid salts formed in the body during the metabolism of purines. Normally, they are soluble in the blood and excreted by the kidneys, but with their excess, they can crystallize and be deposited in the tissues.

Increased urate content is associated with the development of gout and urolithiasis. Controlling uric acid levels is important to prevent these conditions.
