Трофические язвы

Trophic ulcers are long-term non-healing defects of the skin and underlying tissues that occur as a result of impaired blood circulation, innervation or local metabolism. Most often, they form on the lower extremities and are a complication of diseases such as varicose veins, arterial insufficiency, diabetic angiopathy, osteomyelitis. In some cases, trophic ulcers can be deep and affect muscles and bones.

Treatment of trophic ulcers is complex and multi-stage. It includes the elimination of the underlying cause of circulatory disorders, treatment of the ulcer surface, and the use of anti-inflammatory and regenerative therapy. Adequate antimicrobial protection and skin care around the ulcer are also important aspects. In some cases, surgery and skin grafting may be required. In addition to medical measures, a diet rich in protein and vitamins, as well as the rejection of bad habits, such as smoking, which impairs the blood supply to the tissues, have a significant impact on the healing process.
