Description
The drug of plant origin, intended for the treatment of diseases of the kidneys and other organs of the urinary system, has antibacterial properties and improves mineral metabolism.
It helps to remove salts from the body. Suitable for adults and children from 5 years.
If you suffer from pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis or kidney failure with disturbances in water and mineral metabolism, try plantain leaves. The drug contains a large amount of biologically active substances that relieve inflammation, have a diuretic and antiseptic effect.
Under the condition of normal urine alkalinity, the drug has an antibacterial effect.
Plantain leaves contain a large number of useful substances, so they can be used to solve various problems:
- with gout, you need to make compresses with infusion;
- for hemorrhoids, use for therapeutic baths;
- with intestinal diseases, the infusion should be mixed with milk;
- in case of insomnia or stress, it must be taken in the form of an alcohol tincture.
Also, plantain leaves are used in cosmetology to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation.
To prepare an infusion for adults, you need 1 tbsp. l. pour a glass (200 ml) of boiling water over the leaves. Then the mixture should be infused in a water bath for half an hour. Drink 1 tbsp. spoon after 40 min. after meals 5-6 times during the day.

Pharmacodynamics.
Biologically active substances of the drug have a diuretic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, saluretic effect. The drug increases diuresis, exhibits antibacterial properties under the condition of an alkaline reaction of urine.
Clinical characteristics.
Indication.

Contraindication.
Hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Do not use simultaneously with medicines and food that lower the pH of urine.
Features of application.
Using during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy. Use during breastfeeding as prescribed by a doctor in the event that the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the child.

Method of application and dosage.
Place 1 tablespoon of leaves in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, then immediately strain, and squeeze the remainder into a strained broth. Bring the volume of the decoction to 200 ml with boiled water. Adults and children over 16 years of age take 1 tablespoon warm 5-6 times a day 40 minutes after meals.
For children, prepare a decoction at the rate of 1 teaspoon of leaves per 100 ml of water. Children should use the decoction 4 times a day 40 minutes after meals: children aged 5-7 years – 1 teaspoon each; 7-12 years old – 1 dessert spoon; aged 12-16 years – 2 dessert spoons.
Shake the decoction before taking.
Place 2 filter bags in a glass or enamel container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, close and infuse for 15 minutes. Adults and children over 16 years old should take ¼ cup warm 4-5 times a day 40 minutes after meals. Children should use the decoction 3 times a day 40 minutes after meals: children aged 5-7 years – 1 dessert spoon each; 7-12 years old – 1 tablespoon each; aged 12-16 years – ¼ cup each.
The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually.
Children.
The drug should be used by children over 5 years old as prescribed by a doctor.
Overdose.
Exceeding the recommended doses or long-term use may cause nausea, vomiting, impaired kidney function, and miscarriages in pregnant women.
Treatment is symptomatic.
Adverse reactions.
Dark green color of urine, allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, swelling of the skin). Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. If adverse reactions occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.
Expiration date. 5 years.
Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Storage conditions.
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not higher than 25 °C in a place inaccessible to children; prepared decoction or infusion – in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
