Ferritin

11.05.2026 | Natalia Kandybey

Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in the body. Its level reflects iron reserves and is an important laboratory indicator for assessing the risk of iron deficiency.

Low ferritin levels are often accompanied by weakness, fatigue, and hair loss, and may precede the development of anemia. Elevated levels are sometimes observed with inflammation or liver disease.
