Tincture of hawthorn for a healthy heart and blood vessels

Composition:
active substance: tincture of hawthorn fruits (Crataegi fructus) (1:10) (extractant – ethanol 70%);

Biologically active substances contained in hawthorn fruits increase blood circulation in the coronary vessels and vessels of the brain, increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to cardiac glycosides and reduce its excitability, which leads to a certain increase in contractions of the heart muscle. The drug is well absorbed when taken internally. The effect occurs after 30 minutes – 1 hour.
Clinical characteristics.
Indication. Functional disorders of the cardiovascular system (neurocirculatory dystonia), as an auxiliary drug in mild forms of heart rhythm disorders (fibrillar arrhythmia, paroxysmal tachycardia).
Contraindication. Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug. Expressed arterial hypotension and bradycardia.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.
Hawthorn tincture can potentiate the effect of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmic agents. Use with alkaloid salts is not recommended due to the possibility of formation of negative complexes. Do not use the drug with cisapride. May increase the effect of sleeping pills, sedatives, hypotensive agents.
Features of application.
The drug is not recommended to be taken during meals to avoid interaction with food components. Patients with severe arterial hypotension and/or bradycardia should not use the drug without prior consultation with a doctor.
Using during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Contraindicated.
The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
The drug contains ethyl alcohol and can cause drowsiness, therefore, during the period of use of the drug, you should refrain from driving vehicles or working with potentially dangerous mechanisms.
Method of application and dosage.
Use internally with food. Adults are recommended to take 20 drops of tincture 3 times a day, children aged 12 years and older – at the rate of 1 drop per 1 year of life 3 times a day until a stable therapeutic effect is achieved. The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and individual sensitivity to the drug and is determined by the doctor individually.
Children.
The drug should be used by children over 12 years of age.
Overdose.
Overdose causes a decrease in blood pressure, drowsiness, bradycardia. You should stop taking the drug, the therapy is symptomatic.
Adverse reactions.
Drowsiness, significant slowing of heart rate, allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, swelling of the skin).
