The drug has a hemostatic effect, relieves inflammation.
The drug can also be used for minor intestinal or stomach bleeding.

Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
Water pepper extract has a hemostatic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and soothing effect.
Bioflavonoids contained in water pepper (rutin, quercetin, hyperoside, rhamnazine, kaempferol, myricetin, luteolin) exhibit P-vitamin activity, reduce the permeability of capillaries, normalize the structure of the vascular wall, and protect ascorbic acid contained in water pepper from oxidation. Together with ascorbic acid, they participate in redox reactions, reduce the activity of hyaluronidase. The hemostatic effect of the drug is combined with the ability to stimulate the contraction of the muscles of the uterus, similar to the horns, but this property is much weaker.
Polygopiperine glycoside accelerates blood clotting.
Tannins have an anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. Together with bioflavonoids, they have a synergistic hemostatic effect.
Pharmacokinetics.
The maximum pharmacological effect of peppercorn bioflavonoids is achieved by extraction with 70% ethyl alcohol. At such a concentration, flavonoids are dissolved in it, which are in both free (aglycon) and bound (with a glycosidic part) form. This achieves the maximum absorption of the main substances that occur with the participation of flavonoids, they are hydrolyzed into aglycones and glycosides. The former is excreted by the kidneys with urine and through the intestines with bile, the latter (carbohydrate residue) is either oxidized in the Krebs cycle to carbon dioxide and water, or deposited in the form of glycogen in the body.
