Description

When to Choose Pertussin

Pertussin syrup is a time-tested, herbal medicinal product. It is commonly used as part of combination therapy for:

  • symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) accompanied by cough;
  • acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheitis;
  • as part of combination therapy for pneumonia and pertussis (whooping cough);
  • a lingering cough after a cold to help ease discomfort;
  • difficulty expectorating thick mucus.

What Problem the Product Solves

Pertussin supports the airways’ natural self-clearing mechanism:

  • Helps thin and clear mucus: stimulates ciliary epithelium activity, promoting the movement of secretions from the lower to the upper airways.
  • Softens the cough: helps a dry, irritating cough become productive (wet).
  • Soothing effect: potassium bromide in the formula helps reduce nervous system excitability, which may ease coughing fits.
  • Reduces irritation: supports a milder course of illness without aggressive impact on the body.

Conditions and Particulars of Use

The product is a practical choice for a home medicine cabinet in the autumn–winter season, but follow these rules:

  • Age: suitable for adults and children aged 4 and over (for children 4–6 years old, be sure to dilute in 20 ml of water).
  • Course use: for a stable effect, take as a course as prescribed by a physician, not as a single dose.
  • Features: contains sugar (important for people with diabetes) and ethanol (important for drivers and in other situations where alcohol content matters).
  • Shelf life: after first opening, the syrup should be used within 3 months.

Compatibility and a Comprehensive Approach

  • Pairs well with warm drinks, herbal teas, and inhalations.
  • Important: concomitant use with medicines that suppress the cough reflex is not recommended.
  • May potentiate the effect of sedatives.

Why People Choose Pertussin Syrup

  • Herbal formula: contains liquid thyme extract.
  • Dual action: an effective combination of an expectorant component and a soothing component.
  • Convenience: available in 100 g and 200 g bottles for the whole family.
  • Ukrainian quality: manufactured by PrJSC “Pharmaceutical Factory ‘Viola’” in accordance with high pharmaceutical standards.
