Description

Streptocide ointment provides quick healing of wounds

Who Streptocide Ointment is suitable for

A topical antimicrobial product based on sulfanilamide for skin treatment when antimicrobial support is needed for wounds and purulent-inflammatory processes without pronounced weeping.

When to choose Streptocide Ointment

The product is used for:

  • ulcers;
  • burns;
  • cracks;
  • wounds;
  • pyoderma;
  • erysipelas of the skin;
  • purulent-inflammatory skin processes without pronounced exudation.

What problem the product solves

Streptocide (sulfanilamide) provides a local antimicrobial effect:

  • Inhibits the growth of microorganisms: acts against streptococci and other microorganisms.
  • Works by “blocking growth”: disrupts the use by the microbial cell of growth factors associated with folic acid.
  • Helps control skin inflammation: as a topical component of care for the affected area.

Conditions and specifics of use

  • Apply a thin layer to the affected area, including under a gauze dressing.
  • The frequency and duration of use are determined by a physician depending on the severity of the condition and the effect.
  • If an allergic reaction appears at the application site, discontinue use.
  • It is important not to stop the course prematurely so as not to increase the risk of microorganism resistance to sulfonamides.

Compatibility and comprehensive care

  • It is undesirable to combine with a number of medicines (digitoxin, hydrochloric acid, caffeine, mezaton, phenobarbital, adrenaline hydrochloride).
  • Novocaine may reduce the effectiveness of streptocide if the products are used one after another.

Why Streptocide Ointment is chosen

  • Topical antimicrobial action based on sulfanilamide.
  • Convenient use: thin layer, can be applied under a gauze dressing.
  • Suitable for purulent-inflammatory skin processes without pronounced exudation.
  • Ukrainian manufacturer: PrJSC “Pharmaceutical Factory ‘Viola’”.

The product for external use has a pronounced antimicrobial effect and accelerates wound healing, including purulent wounds, since it destroys streptococci and other pathogenic microorganisms. It promotes restoration of damaged skin. The pronounced antimicrobial property is due to the product’s ability to disrupt the mechanism of growth and development of microbial cells. Intended for adults.

If you suffer from pyoderma, an ulcer, erysipelas of the skin, or have burns, cracks, or wounds of various origin, try Streptocide Ointment. The product is highly effective because it has a detrimental effect on pathogenic microorganisms and speeds up recovery.

Streptocide Ointment is recommended for use in any purulent-inflammatory skin processes without pronounced exudation.

The product should be applied to the affected areas of the skin in a thin layer. If necessary, a sterile dressing may be applied on top.

Pharmacodynamics.
The medicinal product exhibits an antimicrobial effect against streptococci and other microorganisms. Streptocide disrupts the process of assimilation by the microbial cell of its growth factors — folic acid and related substances that contain para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA); due to the similarity of the structures of PABA and sulfanilamide, the latter is a competitive antagonist of the acid at the level of biochemical systems of microorganisms.

Pharmacokinetics.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.
During use of Streptocide Ointment, it is undesirable to take such medicines as digitoxin, hydrochloric acid, caffeine, mezaton, phenobarbital, adrenaline hydrochloride.

Novocaine, which contains a para-aminobenzoic acid residue, reduces the effectiveness of the medicinal product if these medicines are used one immediately after another.
