Basic physical and chemical properties:

crushed raw materials: pieces of bark of various shapes, passing through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 7 mm. The color of the bark from the outer surface is dark brown, gray-brown, dark gray or gray, from the inner – yellowish-orange or red-brown;

coarse powder: a yellow-brown powder that passes through a sieve with holes of 2 mm.

For all types of raw materials, the smell is weak, the taste is bitter.

The biologically active substances of the drug have a mild laxative effect, the mechanism of which is to increase peristalsis of the large intestine, without irritating the mucous membrane and without affecting the small intestine. The laxative effect occurs 8-12 hours after application.

Contraindication.

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug. Constipation of neurogenic and endocrine origin, spastic constipation, intestinal obstruction, bleeding, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis, acute gastroenterocolitis, other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity, acute abdominal conditions.

Special security measures.

Long-term use of the drug leads to habituation and weakening or absence of laxative effect. To prevent addiction, it is advisable to alternate with other laxatives.

Method of application and dosage.

Place 1 tablespoon of bark in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, strain, squeeze the remainder into a strained decoction. Bring the volume of the decoction to 200 ml with boiled water. Apply warm to adults ½ cup at night, to children over 12 years old – ¼-⅓ cup at night. Shake the decoction before use.

Place 2 filter bags in a glass or enamel container, pour 100 ml of boiling water, close and infuse for 15-20 minutes. Apply warm to adults up to 100 ml at night, children over 12 years old – ¼-⅓ cup (50-60 ml) at night.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor individually.

Children.

It is recommended to use the drug for children over 12 years of age.

Overdose.

In case of an overdose, colic-like pain in the abdomen, tenesmus, and a feeling of discomfort are possible. If these symptoms appear, you should stop taking the drug.

Adverse reactions.

With long-term use, diarrhea with metabolic disorders, dehydration, a decrease in the function of intestinal enzymes, atony of the large intestine, colic pain, and allergic reactions may develop.
