Choleresis

03.06.2025 | Natalia Kandybey

Choleresis is the process of formation and excretion of bile by the liver into the small intestine. It plays a key role in digestion, especially in the breakdown and absorption of fats, as well as in the elimination of metabolic products and toxins from the body.

The intensity of choleresis depends on the condition of the liver, nutrition, hormonal levels and the effects of drugs. Increased bile secretion can be caused by taking cholerics – substances that stimulate bile production, while choleresis disorders can lead to digestive problems and biliary tract diseases.
