Description

The herbal preparation contains biologically active components that improve the heart and nervous system, strengthen blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

If you suffer from neurosis or vegetative neurosis, increased nervous excitement, insomnia or have experienced severe stress, try valerian rhizomes. They suppress the excitability of the central nervous system, improve the work of the cardiovascular system and normalize blood pressure indicators. The drug also effectively relieves spasms of smooth muscles.

Valerian rhizomes can also be used to treat diseases of the digestive system, as they stimulate the release of bile and the secretion of gastric juice.

To prepare the infusion, pour 1 dessert spoon of rhizomes with 200 ml of boiling water and infuse for 15 minutes in a water bath. Adults take a decoction of 1-2 tbsp. spoon after 30 min. after meals 3-4 times a day.

Composition:
active substance: valerian medicinal rhizome with roots;
1 pack contains rhizomes with roots of medicinal valerian (Valerianae radix) – 50 g; 1 filter bag contains rhizomes with valerian roots (Valerianae radix) – 1.5 g.

The main physical and chemical properties:
crushed raw materials: pieces of roots and rhizomes of various shapes, light brown in color, which pass through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 7 mm. The smell is strong, pleasant. The taste is spicy, sweet-bitter;
coarse powder: pieces of roots and rhizomes of various shapes, light brown in color, which pass through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 3 mm. The smell is strong, pleasant. The taste is spicy, sweet-bitter.

Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
The biologically active substances of the drug have a calming effect on the central nervous system, improve the activity of the cardiovascular system, lower blood pressure, have an antispasmodic and weak choleretic effect, and increase the secretion of the glands of the digestive tract.

Clinical characteristics.
Indication.
Nervous excitement, insomnia; vegetative neurosis and neurosis of the cardiovascular system; spasms of the digestive tract (as part of complex therapy).

Contraindication.
Hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug. Depression.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.
Enhances the effect of alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, hypotensive, anxiolytic and antispasmodics.

Since in some patients, valerian drugs can cause drowsiness, a depressed state, during treatment, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

Method of application and dosage.
Place 1 dessert spoon of rhizomes with roots in an enamel dish, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, squeeze the residue to a filtered infusion. Bring the volume of infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Use warm 3-4 times a day 30 minutes after meals: adults and children over 14 years old – 1-2 tablespoons, children 6-10 years old – 1 teaspoon, 10-14 years old – 1 dessert spoon. Shake the infusion before use.
Place 2 filter bags in a glass or enamel container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, close and infuse for 15 minutes. Use warm 3-4 times a day 30 minutes after meals: adults and children over 14 years old – ⅓ cup each; children aged 6-10 years – 1-2 dessert spoons, 10-14 years – 2 tablespoons.
The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually.

Children.
The drug should be used by children over 6 years of age as prescribed by a doctor.

Overdose.
Overdose and long-term use (longer than 2 months) can cause a feeling of depression, increased fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, bradycardia, increased blood coagulation. Symptomatic therapy (gastric lavage, use of activated carbon, sodium sulfate).

Adverse reactions.
In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, sleep disturbance and manifestation of the opposite excitatory effect, as well as the development of allergic reactions (including rash, itching, hyperemia, skin edema) are possible. Abdominal spasms, nausea, intestinal dysfunction may occur; headache, bradycardia, arrhythmia, weakness, drowsiness, depressed state, reduced work capacity.

Expiration date. 3 years.
Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

Storage conditions.
Store in the original packaging at a temperature not higher than 25 °C in a place inaccessible to children; prepared infusion – in a cool place for no more than 2 days.

Packaging.
50 g in bags with an insert in a pack; 1.5 g each in filter bags, followed by placing 20 filter bags in a pack.
