Blood vessels are a system of tubular structures in the body through which blood circulates. They include arteries, veins, and capillaries, and they ensure the delivery of oxygen and nutrients as well as the removal of metabolic products between organs and tissues.

The condition of blood vessels is important for the functioning of the cardiovascular system. Impaired vascular elasticity or patency can affect blood supply to the organs. Maintaining vascular health is usually associated with controlling risk factors such as nutrition, physical activity, blood pressure, glucose and lipid levels, as well as avoiding harmful habits.
