Cortisol

Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal cortex and plays an important role in regulating metabolism, the immune response, and the body’s response to stress. It is often referred to as the “stress hormone.”

In the short term, cortisol helps the body adapt to stress, but its long-term elevation can negatively affect sleep, weight, blood sugar levels, and overall well-being. A healthy daily routine, good sleep, and reduced stress levels help maintain normal regulation of this hormone.
