Valerian tincture – has a pronounced calming effect

The biologically active components contained in the product have a pronounced sedative effect, as they reduce the excitation processes in the central nervous system. They also normalize sleep, enhance the effect of antispasmodic and analgesic agents.

Adults should take the drug orally 30-40 drops 3-4 times a day. The duration of the treatment course is determined individually.

Composition:
active substance: tincture of rhizomes with valerian roots (Rhizomata cum radicibus Valerianae) (1:5) (extractant – ethanol 70%);
1 bottle contains tinctures of rhizomes with valerian roots (Rhizomata cum radicibus Valerianae) (1:5) (extractant – ethanol 70%) ̶ 25 ml or 50 ml.

Medicinal form. Tincture.
The main physical and chemical properties: transparent liquid of reddish-brown color with a characteristic pleasant smell. Sediment formation is allowed.

Biologically active substances contained in the roots and rhizomes of valerian (essential oil, valeric acid, borneol, alkaloids, tannins, sugars) reduce the excitation processes in the central nervous system, enhance the effects of other sedative, hypnotic, analgesic and antispasmodic agents.

Indication. Functional disorders of the central nervous system (increased emotional excitability, irritability, sleep disorders), cardiovascular system (neurocirculatory dystonias).

Contraindication. Depression and other disorders accompanied by depression of the central nervous system. Increased sensitivity to biologically active substances included in the composition of the drug.

Special security measures. For the period of treatment, patients taking the tincture should refrain from driving vehicles and working with potentially dangerous mechanisms due to the content of ethyl alcohol in the preparation.

Children.
Since the composition of the drug includes ethanol, the tincture is not recommended for internal use by children under 12 years of age.

Overdose .
If the recommended doses of the drug are significantly exceeded, the development of pronounced adverse reactions is possible: headache, dizziness, drowsiness, general weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, decreased acuity of hearing and vision, palpitations, mental agitation.
Treatment. In case of overdose, you should stop taking the drug. Symptomatic therapy (gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal).

Adverse reactions.
The drug, as a rule, is well tolerated, however, some patients may experience suppression of emotional reactions, drowsiness, reduced work capacity, depression, nausea, spastic abdominal pain, weakness. Allergic reactions are possible (including redness of the skin, rash, itching, swelling of the skin).
